Load Lifting / Aerial Crane
Twenty five years of external load liftng experience has enabled PDG Helicopters to become the industry leaders in this very specialised and complex field. The Company's helicopters are all equipped to enable them to carry out external load lifting. Throughout the UK and Ireland PDG Helicopters fly diverse external load flights, from simple lifts to the precision positioning of cables on top of electricity poles and delivery of tonnes of concrete.
Many tasks, such as the moving of farmed fish require the development and use of specialised equipment. The Company works in conjunction with its clients to develop both equipment and techniques. Over the years many tasks have turned from being "how can we do this?" to routine missions.
When required, specially trained ground crews are deployed with the helicopter, working closely with the pilot and customers to ensure both safety and efficiency. There are undoubtedly lifting tasks yet to be thought of. PDG Helicopters are well placed to offer advice at the planning stage and provide resources for follow up development.
